Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Process Engineer to join our dynamic team at MEC, a growing Oil & Gas engineering and consulting firm. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the design, optimization, and operation of natural gas processing systems. The position requires approximately 25% travel to West Texas to support field operations, client projects, and site assessments.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, simulate, and optimize natural gas processing systems, including gas treatment, compression, dehydration, cryogenics and fractionation processes.
- Perform process calculations, develop P&IDs (Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams), and support equipment sizing and selection.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure projects meet technical, safety, and regulatory standards.
- Conduct field visits in West Texas (approximately 25% travel) to troubleshoot processes, support commissioning, and provide on-site technical assistance.
- Analyze operational data to identify inefficiencies and recommend improvements for enhanced performance and cost savings.
- Prepare technical reports, proposals, and documentation for clients and internal stakeholders.
- Stay current with industry trends, technologies, and best practices in natural gas processing.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience: Open to new graduates with strong academic foundations or experienced engineers with a proven track record in process engineering (natural gas experience preferred but not required).
- Familiarity with process simulation software (e.g., HYSYS, Aspen Plus, UniSim, or ProMax) is a plus.
- Understanding of natural gas processing, thermodynamics, and fluid dynamics.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in both office and field environments.
- Willingness to travel to West Texas (approximately 25% of the time) for project support.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for client interactions and technical reporting.
- Knowledge of industry codes and standards (e.g., API, ASME) is advantageous.
